Today, I have been mostly... bashing turrets into PTFE boards. I had to take everything down to the self storage place (a.k.a. my shed) to do it. After bashing the first one in, having drilled out all the holes, Meredith asked me how many I had left to go. When I answered "71", her reaction led me to decide that completing the task somewhere other than the flat might not be a bad idea.

I don't think I'd have been popular at the pub with this either! My self storage lock-up (well, shipping container) is in the middle of a Chesterfield industrial estate, they don't mind loud hammering on a Sunday afternoon so much.

Partially completed softstart / dc blocking modules. The soft start PCB and its 9V transformer can be seen between the turret boards. The components for the dc blocker (4 diodes, 6 caps) will be mounted to the turrets next. I have already tested the soft start boards to prove they work, cos they'd be a bugger to get out if they didn't!

It really isn't, it only looks that way in the photographs. The cat paw-prints are out of focus, that's why you can't see them.

Dave, just thought I would post you a link to the latest Broskie TCJ; he's got some stuff about improving Transcendent push/pull amps and a challenge for a builder. I thought it might be of interest?

Can you confirm where you got the ptfe/teflon sheet? I've been looking on e-bay but not cheap even coming from China.

My next prototype is probably going to be using chopping boards but guess these are not ptfe and not as good for the ultimate construction.
TD-125/RB250/MC25FL & 'Snail' phono, NAS/SBT with CS4398 DAC, 41MP pre & MoFo Power, still messing with OBs.

I've used Delrin sheet in the past.

It is usually available in black, or white.

Good insulation property's but does not like too much heat. Not a problem (usually) when soldering to turret tags but I have had problems when trying to un-solder.

The last time I did a diy circuit board (S/E Mosfet amp) FR4 glassfibre was used.

Sounds like we are getting close to reinventing printed circuit boards...
