A most elucidative and educatory post.
I await with great interest to see how this project progresses.

Yes, thanks a lot Stephen for that.
Certainly gives a lot of things to think about. This sort of thing doesn't put me off. I'm one of those people who likes plenty of information before starting on something new like this. The days of me going off on some hare-brained scheme and just building and hoping are gone.

I've uploaded here http://www.izzy-wizzy.com/audio/phono/ my collection of phono circuits. There are loads more out there but these are just the ones that caught my interest for one reason or another over the years. All were available on the web at some point.
cheers,
Stephen

What a great collection of circuits Stephen - thanks !
I'm even famous
I might ask you at some stage to add my 'normal' D3a phono in addition to the jFet one. I'll re-find the circuit diagram , I linked it from Thomas's thread recently.

Would it be heresy to suggest a phono stage with an USB output as well ?

Don't know whether it's because I'm using a phone but most of the circuit links don't work for me after PLANAR_PHONO.jpg. No one else having a problem?

What you get up to in the privacy of your own boudoir should not be shared widely, Philip - you never know who is listening! Remember, when its on the Internet its on the Internet.

Thanks Paul.
Curious. Just tried opening them again and they open fine. They were out of order last time, but now they're in the correct alphanumeric order. Shit happens.
