That's why I did the bulk buy, I assumed that is what folks were going to use them for.
I was just being a bit thick :)

Experimenting with some DC blockers. ..

Just plugged in the prototype BMU ands nothing blew. :o

So at least I'd got the wiring up right. The transformer hums a little, so I tried my low power DC blocker on the front. Nothing.

Seems the IEC on the blocker has a 2A fuse built in and it's blown. I have a thermistor on the BMU as well.

I'll sort it out when I get back by nicking one of the 833a DC blockers and trying that. :)

Back home now, had a lovely walk with friends using footpaths in the Sible Hedingham area. :)

I replaced the DC blocker fuse with a wire link, but trying it with the BMU did not change the buzz.

So, a thin sheet of bubblewrap under the transformer was tried and it's quieter now. :)

I'm trying the BMU with the two GK71 amps at the moment, difficult to say if its better or not. I'll wire up the other double socket later and try it on the CD player, DAC PSU and Pre3.

Mind them exposed mains terminals there Popz, no pop-bang-fizzle please!

Output Voltage OK BTW? not too high when only loaded lightly?

At the moment it's 123.5v X 2. On test without load it was 125.0v X 2.

For full effect go for the full phrase "Coolio Julio" but accompany it with both hands held ahead in pointy fore-finger pose then move them in revolving circular fashion approx 180 degrees apart.

They'd be in awe!

My "paintshop fu" is also weak, but couldn't resist...

Bit more time, and I'd make a better job (unlike Del-boy...)

I've just ordered a bigger (in amps) thermistor for my BMU, the one on there at the moment looks fried. :)

Tho old one was 5A, I'm going up to 6.5A.
