Hi all,

I am trying to source some 4.7uf 63v capacitors. They are for a Jolida JD9 phonostage. I would prefer polypropylene but I can't find any anywhere. Don't this value come in polypropylene???

If not, what's the next best thing?

It's the coupling caps(?) Between the opamp stages. They a polyester (?) Currently. I'm not 100% sure of the technical terms lol.

There is such a wide range available, the cost of some might make your eyes water.

I'd suggest the Mundorf Mcap supreme as a very good, but not absurdly expensive capacitor. Don't worry too much about the voltage rating.

Cheers guys, I currently have Mundorfs Supremes in and they are very good. Clarity caps are on the to do list though.

The Caps I want to replace are inbetween the three opamp stage (8 total) they need to be quite similar in size, about 18mm wide and quite squat. It's a bit difficult to find something similar. The one Nick linked earlier is too big which is a shame.

With that size restriction, I would stay with the orange drops, they are not bad.

They are non-polar.
You could use two 2.2u/50v or two 4.7u/50v if the value is not critical.
I used a pair like this , 1uF , on input to a chip amp - seem pretty transparent.

Wasn't it something to do with the distortion level being lower due to some aspects of the construction being balanced-out if paired that way ?
