Cheers... and seriously, you would be welcome to attend our meet upDaniel Quinn wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2017 10:01 am So you meant to indirectly insult me irrelevantly 3 times .
I can live with that largely semantic qualification .
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

I think Owston would be a real eye opener for DQ, I'd even be prepared to make a donation towards his travelling costs.steve s wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2017 10:04 amCheers... and seriously, you would be welcome to attend our meet upDaniel Quinn wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2017 10:01 am So you meant to indirectly insult me irrelevantly 3 times .

Owston has a really good atmosphere, and it's not competitive.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2017 10:31 am I can attend without the donation , but thanks anyway Pre ?

By road (from central Preston) it's just under 90 miles each way.

What is it with geography teachers? Mine was a Mr Roland Jones. Welsh to the core, a devoted rugby fan and a fervent believer in the use of corporal punishment. He managed to cane 108 pupils in one term, more than one sixth of the entire school population. He was a big lad and put heart and soul into his beatings. Happy days...... not.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2017 10:01 amAh! my old Geography teach Mr Lewis, as Welsh as they come. The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

My last geography teacher was also Welsh, Mr Richards - but nickname Cliff.
Even worse was our sports teacher, forget his name (Jones ?), but also Welsh and a really nasty man if you were not in the football or rugby team.

it must truly be in the blood. Mine also was Welsh. Mr Pridmore(Priddy, we never knew his christian name). He was rumoured to have been capped for Wales(rugby). He was very absent minded and I do remember one 2nd year geography lesson where his jacket pocket caught fire as he'd put his pipe in it without waiting for it to go out(extinguish).
I'm laughing now.....
btw can somebody confirm my spelling of rumoured as the pesky spell checker insists on underlining it.....
and my font colour has also changed...wierd suff happening here this morning

You may have (like me) an American version Ed.
I must look into getting a proper UK version.
