How about an O-ring top and bottom? The bottom one gives a bit of friction on the nut as well so doesn't come undone so easily if not tight.

PS: Mike what do think of the brass rega rear weight compared to the standard one as thinking of getting one from ebay Infinitely superior IMO, bit of a pig to set up tho, youse needs patience, steady hands and a stylus balance.
