Why not try getting one of the DL's retipped? Expert Stylus may have some suggestions of changes they could make.

Is it for the compressor I think you mentioned before? I have been working on a similar output stage for a differential mode DAC, using a push pull 6n6p driving a Sowter 8650. Sounds very nice (if I say so). the 6n6p is a lot more linear than the ecc81. What spec do you have for the transformer, may...

Yep, I did this in my phonoII clone, Use a 240v:9v TX, then a 9v:240v one, take the B+ from the second 240v and power the heaters from the 9v in the middle. You will get less that 240v on the second output because of copper losses, but as long as the VA ratings are considered then its fine. Can also...

According to the flyer I was given, the TX102 TVC is in the MFA preamp. They also have a TX1002 which is a smaller version of the 102. I think he said they sell the 102, but the price he mentioned meant it would not be undercutting the finished unit. I get the feeling they are happy to sell anything...
No what I am saying is that the DCR is whatever it is, the winder will have aimed at a DCR, normally if it works out that he can find space for thicker wire then the DCR will be less, but as thats normally considered a good thing they probably wont tell anyone. Just explaining why it may be advertis...

S&B transformers
I took myself along to the show in Manchester this weekend. I was in the Music First room and got chatting to a Mr Billington, so I asked why they had stopped selling into the DIY market. and it seems they haven't, in case anyone is interested they are still making and selling the step ups, the AVC'...

Not to worry Ed, I knew what you were saying, don't fret. Yep, the idea of having a plug in set of signatures makes perfect sense for a find anything device. Problem is how do you then take that information and find the thing, that all I was saying. Bit like saying all you need to make a faster than...
