Re: Southern Phono Stage Bake-Off

The village is Houghton on the Hill, situated between Peterborough and Leicester.
I am happy to travel west or south, but I don't know how restrictive a southern one will be.
This location will serve the East Anglia, London regions, Midlands and above offering for many a similar shared travel time.

Re: Southern Phono Stage Bake-Off

I have dates available for Houghton Village Hall on October 15, 22, 29. November 19, 26. To assist with securing a date, Can any interested parties let their intention to attend be known along with the Phonostage they would like to bring. I would like to think we can have a large enough attendance t...

Re: Southern Phono Stage Bake-Off

It is proving difficult to locate a venue on a Sunday in East London. I have contacted a few village halls near Peterborough for a October/ November slot on a Sunday for a 9.00am - 6.00pm booking. If one the contacted venues agrees to the booking, the cost for the day should be less than £100 shared...

Re: Southern Phono Stage Bake-Off

I Couldn't get the venue of choice, I'm looking for a suitable place at present. Sundays seem to have a demand on small halls.

Re: Southern Phono Stage Bake-Off

Thank you for extending the invitation to others. As for arranging a Phonostage Funday in the past via another forum, a venue just west of Birmingham was selected, but there was not enough interest to create the event. There is a good opportunity here to allow others to hear a selection of phonostag...

Re: Southern Phono Stage Bake-Off

I hope the following is acceptable and does not offend the proposer of this initial idea. After hearing about the near Brighton one being cancelled and the idea presented to abandon the Southern Attempt, it seems this proposal could be viewed as a life line to keep the proposed event alive. I have s...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

The new set up has had a more effective end result in relation to comfort. The new orientation of the bar has a better ergonomic when holding the bar and gripping close to stem, this now fits the hand almost perfect and allows for a straight wrist, as the search for a comfortable hold is now removed...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Thank you for the support, I've ordered a gel seat cover from DH Gate.com "Hint, Hint" as well as had a play with the set up, to see if it works for my situation at present. I have moved the seat Max forward, with a small off level downward rotation to the rear of the seat, in a attempt to...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Done my first 20 miler today, give or take a mile, left the phone with Cycle Tracks GPS at home. I believe I went out at 6.45 am and arrived back at 8.11 am. Nearly Jacked at about 14 miles but coasted a little, giving the down belows a much needed lift of the saddle, this allowed me to gather the d...

Re: Southern Phono Stage Bake-Off

The recent phono comparisons in Huddersfield, reading the post event comments have proved to be a very enjoyable and entertaining day for the attendees. If these reports are not enough to encourage a get together down south, then I,ll be buggered.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

FSA Omega 50/34 Crankset 110mm BCD N10/11. I have had a look at a few reasonably priced swap outs with up to 53/39. That could be a better gearing for the flat lands. Amazing how much one can learn just by having a peddle fall off. Firstly as you are wheeling your wounded partner through the country...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Hi Ray I diagnosis offered, after a little investigation is, " ill fitted pedal syndrome ", contagiously passed on to me, by the seller of the bike. I know a preferred set of pedals were removed and replaced with the ones I am now using, well I,m using one of them at least. I have been luc...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Had my first proper attempt in many years at a Road Cycle exercise today. Chose a route of close to 17.5 miles, mainly flat, with a few inclines of a few hundred metres each, would be a improved challenge for me if I were to do the route in reverse. Any how after approx 13 miles I stopped due to a w...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Hi Andy
I hope you had few Ales in The Eagle, sharing a moment with the Spirit of our Spitfire and Scientific Elite.
I,m, Fick, Tea Total, and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance in the back bar.
Nice to see where quite a few may have had their last Sup of Ale and Sing a long.
