The thing with the hybrid bridge like I use,and the way Steve did it with a GZ rectifier is the slow start up which will bring the diodes up to max without a "jolt" ! (?)

On my 829b project which is being built now I will not now be using a cap before the choke even though the volts will be down a gnats. Hi Steve-Your cap might not be high enough volts ? That's not a million miles away from the power supply I'm putting together at the moment. I have used two 470uf 350v low ESR caps in series each with 220k 2W bypass resistors. And a bleeder resistor as per the choke input thread. :wink: The 260G is ...
