IIRC the ground connector in the socket on the guitar can be a bit iffy - it's worse with guitars with an edge fitted socket (Telecaster & Les Paul guitars spring to mind).

I've not long since returned from hearing these lovelies for a second time - I was passing and had some recordings to drop off at Colin's (well that's my excuse  ). And I still love what they can do. Loreena McKennitt - Book Of Secrets - absolute killer John Martyn - Solid Air - fabulous as al...

In which case you're either the first person to rip these CDs (there's no freedb record for EAC to add) or other people have ripped them without having input file information (there's still no freedb record for EAC to add). The only way to rectify the lack of tagging is to sit at the computer and ed...

I'm confused :? Have you sorted your problem with Squeezebox seeing new files ? Is your problem now one of file tagging ? When Bob Plant's last album was released there was no record of it in the online databases, so I ended up having to enter all of the information fields myself. It happens once in...

Didja get your problem sorted out Mr I ?
I didn't respond to your question initially because I didn't have a Squeezebox Touch, and the problem may have been Touch specific.
I now has a Touch, so I am in a better position to assist.

Umm, which does what sorry? It's not that they won't rip or play, they will, but it's like half the bits are missing. Can't describe what it sounds like Which sounds like some kind of copy protection system. Doing as I've described might possibly get around the problem. It has done in some cases. T...

FWIW I've got at least two kosher "shop bought" CD's that won't play or rip properly in any of my computers, so if I wanted to copy a track I have to play it in a CD player and record it as analogue into the PC Have you tried holding down the CTRL key when you close the optical drive's tr...

I've always found that playing records with the lid down or even on the deck introduces vibration back into the system.

Why not play records with the lid off ?

It's cheap, and it might improve the sound of the venerable big black CD thingies

No, you don't need 24 bit capability for CDs.

I popped over to Colin's house earlier on today to have a listen to his latest build. I think they sound absolutely incredible - I was there for the best part of 3 hours, and to be honest I'd probably still be there now had neither Colin or myself got other things to go and do. There is a coherence ...

There's a bit of material kicking around, but it's mainly demos and whatnot.

Jeff drowned in the Mississippi the day that his band turned up to start rehearsals for recording material proper for the second album.
Grace was and is a great body of work.
