When I'm at the computer, I like listening here which I think was originally introduced by Philip (Pre 65) http://www.radioparadise.com/index.php I have little complaint about content. It fits my likes and although it probably is a looped transmission, it seems to change every day and I'm not on lon...

On another thread Mr I suggested that Shuguang and Guiguang 300B's were the new kids on the block and probably better that EHGG. In consequence I bought a quad of Guiguang off ebay from this guy for a nice price of £175 including 'gift' postage. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/charming_audio I like them a...

Hi Andrew, You have the best spikes but setting up might be a challenge. If you are using your slate as a single plinth, your new spikes will need to be mounted on top of some pillars. Slatedeck originally provided slate pillars which I have, but in my case I introduced a second below platform made ...

Hi Ian, Yes, I use a Swampy filter but not on the amps because it dulls the sound so that probably won't be a solution for you. I now just use it for any digital sources and the TV etc. It seems to me the simple solution is to take out the dimmer switch and replace with a conventional on/off or is t...

Hi Andrew,

What is the favoured recording of Ralph V Williams Lark Ascending? I've got his Thomas Tallis etc but would love to know on this. What do you suggest?

Regards,

Greg

Hi Angela, Welcome. Remember, there is nothing better than a conspired membership thread deviation to change the atmosphere. This forum has used it skillfully on a couple of occasions. We like it like we like curry :D It'll be good to get to know more about you and what you do. You're not far away f...

Well actually, I just don't believe the title to this thread........even with three kids, I can't see you laying your tools and soldering iron aside. It's just wishful thinking to appease the Mrsus, ain't it? :)

I think I'll phone out for a curry. I don't know, a couple of comments from you guys and I start to salivate like a Pavlovian dog  My local does a particularly fine Tandoori King Prawn Bhuna which is two giant King Prawn tails (like mini Lobsters) butterflied in a rich spicy sauce, complimented...

Hi Bizzie,

Yer, get that but surely that's about the tyre and the quality of the rubber rather than the difference between a plastic idler wheel and a metal one and corresponding impact on sound which is what I'm (and I'm sure others are) interested in.

Hi Dave, Well done! I wish my plinth had sufficient space to rest my glasses on! Actually, for these sort of things I use over the counter bigger magnifiers than for day to day use. It's good to be well in focus when probing an amp! Anyway, I'm well impressed with your consideration of the needs of ...

Hi Mike, There are pirates out there in the trade who care nothing about preserving the mark but buy in obsolete Garrard, Lenco etc and then deliberately strip to sell off as parts which realises a higher financial return for them. The metal idler thing is interesting. Has anyone actually done a lis...

Hi Dave and anyone else this might apply to. I've also read the AoS thread, visiting as a guest only. The bottom line is there is no value in commenting further here. What happens on AT is (or should be) isolated from what happens there. A membership 'no comment' approach is far more authoritive tha...
