Saburo's Vs. DTB

It's Christmas, I like traditional Christmas's so not being one to break with tradition I thought I'd do another build over the Christmas holidays... 2006 was WD88VA. 2007 was the MLTL's and this year it's a pair of Saburo's. This has come about because a) I like building things b) Any foole knows 4...

Thanks for all the input Gents (watch out for that inter-electrode capacitance though...arf!) and ideas. Well, I managed to get it home last night on the back of the bike. Powered it up and lo and behold there's me missing top end  I was feeding it from my Valve phono stage via a shunted 50K ...

^^^^There you go Mike, see.....listen to what Anthony said :D He's done it on an uber-tight budget too. Seriously though Mike, pop round if you like, you're more than welcome. Phil's done it and he escaped unscathed (I think!).... although he did take a while to get used to the chilled-out blissful ...

Thanks Mike, I've just checked the 'pot-in-a-box' Volume control we have here in the 'shop. It's 220K.....

I've got a 20K shunted ALP's at home, I'll try and get the amp home tonight on the 'bike and try it at Chez Bass.

EDIT. It's a 50K shunted Alps not a 20K, sorry.

... this Miller-capacitance effect, can I do anything about it by fitting either grid leak and/or grid stopper resistors to the grid of the ECC83?

I found this site... http://www.freewebs.com/valvewizard/gridstopper.html

Has anyone else had this problem with LW?

This small blue green planet far out on the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the galaxy, which is so amazingly primitive that the inhabitants still think that digital watches are a pretty neat idea, is not necessarily the best place to live. Boring provincials! Phil's gonna understand...
