I should have said varying amplitude ac voltage as well, which is also what music signals are...... maybe somebody could suggest a good primer to read up on basic ac transmission...it seems the focus of this question trixy chaps these music signals vs fixed frequency and amplitude....bit like the di...

I stuck my DMM across the interstage secondary. I get 258R resistance, and with music playing a small negative DC voltage (in mv) and an ac voltage reading between 250mv on quietish music raising to 4v on sustained peaks. Not sure how to interpret that though. :? this is the one that caught my eye....

I've been listening to radcliffe's interview(s) on 6 music this week and the excerpts from the new album sound good....... I particularly liked her take on the 'new' digital stuff that was mandatory when she was recording red shoes........she doesn't like it at all..prefers that nice warm analogue t...

F F F F Fashon (turn to the left) :-) not so much about fashion as me learning a bit more about DF and how it affects synergy....also I didn't have much experience of DHTs to do the comparisons in those days...these things have changed slightly and I think I have a better feel for the different fla...

The numbers on Nelson Pass's site lists the various amps vital statistics, and the noise of the F4 is 50µV the F5 100µV. But both are lower than we need to worry about I suggest. 100µV and 25w is a 102dB S/N ratio Not that I think Ed is saying it is. I was just pointing out the differences in spec ...

Obviously much better at bass than a low power valve amp. in post 4 I made reference to the F5 and F4 being similar, it was post 750 here that I was referring to: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pass-labs/121228-f5-power-amplifier-75.html what I meant to say is I didn't want to risk £100 and a weeks...

Ed! "You've got too much to think"! :-) DTB it's what one does when pushing the push chair around the park in the morning......There are somewhere in the region of 100 baby ducklings on the pond at the moment, ranging from 3 inches to about 6 inches, and not a yellow one to be found.........

ducks

I've been wondering about this for some time..... all the ducks in the park(s) are green and blue or brown with black specks or white..at least all the ones I've seen... so why are all the kiddie's ducks for the bath yellow? I can't ever recall seeing a yellow duck in the wild(outside the bathroom)..

crackling 2A3

My beloved 2A3 started intermittent crackling on 1 channel yesterday so I immediately started poking around. It sounded similar to the interference you get on the radio when there is lightning in the area. Anyway, immediately panicked, thinking it might be a coupling cap so whipped out the 2a3s and ...
