Re: Streaming advice needed.

I still recommend max2play. In built support for LMS and many other plugins including kodi and now Spotify. It's highly flexible and can be tweaked to one's 'heart content'. I too use max2play at the moment, but I'm unconvinced at the level of development activity on Vortexbox which is my server......

Raspberry Pi FM CD-quality stereo xmtr with no extra hardware

Here's an insanely left-field project - turns a RPi into a CD-quality powerful FM stereo transmitter without using any extra hardware by hacking the spread-spectrum functionality of the board with a kernel driver, plus one GPIO pin :) : http://www.icrobotics.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Turning_the_Raspberr...

Re: Balanced Power Supply

I suppose I should post the isolation/balanced/protected supply I use for testing valve radios & amps etc. Not DIY - mostly COTS... Picked up an s/h 600W medical isolation transformer - an ISB-060W for 50 quid a while ago - they appear on eBay from time to time - very nice units. Followed that w...

Guys, Just a useful site – there are sites that tell you if your email address has ever been in a breach, but not what password was compromised… so you can’t check if a password string is safe or not… https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords is an interesting site – the guy (who is a well known and resp...

Re: 6B4G - The Resurrection Shuffle

Well, that was a fail on my part... ...got back to Dubai last night to find that I can't find my stack of Linear Audio mags here either, so I suspect that they really are in the UK, just that they've been moved somewhere... just that I now can't check until Christmas... Absolutely hate it when that ...

Re: Solder

The Audio Note stuff is an interesting mix - the only significant difference to normal silver-loaded solder is that it's 6% Ag rather than the more usual 4%. The addition of a dab of antimony is mainly to improve wetting - it's not usual in reel solder but more common in solder used in flow baths. E...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

On my way back to warmer climes early tomorrow - our winter starts in about a month so I'll have six months of 25C weather to cycle in. Still high 30s to mid 40s now, but cools rapidly...

Really looking forward to being back on the bike...

I have to do this. You're a teacher, after all, so it may be deliberate, but it's not "Roberts Radio's"...

... it's "Roberts Radios". No apostrophe, no possessives.
