If I recall correctly, Andy Grove listed the KT-77 as beam tetrode equivalent to the EL-34 (in a Hi-Fi World supplement feature on output pentodes/ beam tetrodes). Of course it is not uncommon for people to swap between EL-34, 6L6, KT-66 etc. :D

I have an i-pod shuffle (bought it for running), had problems getting i-tunes to recognise it. When I took it back to the retailer, they tested it and found it was working fine. Tried it on my parents computer, it was working fine. The problem (in my case) appears to be connected to the front USB po...

Transformer set is available from here.

These appear to be aimed primarily for guitar amp use, and are likely to use smaller cores than transformers designed for Hi-Fi use. This is because guitar amplifiers are not generally considered to need to cover the full audio range. As a result, these transformers are likely to be a bit rolled off...

Met Jimmy Carl Black in Aberdeen a few years back, when he was guest vocalist for The Muffin Men (Zappa & Beefheart, in their own style). A real gentleman and one off! Would never have thought he was that old. :o

A meter of 16mm brass (can't find copper but it will be dearer) (I'm guessing the size of a 1p coin as I don't have one !!) costs around £35. Say a penny is 3mm thick? (guessing again, but will be close enough) You would get 333.333333333 pennies to the meter, Value of pennies £3.33, value of brass...
