Re: Nothing In Particular

Ta muchly. Dale were subsumed into the Vishay borg and I just couldn't locate the right devices. 'tis as suspected then.

Interesting bit of kit that they're in - I've fixed a few but they are tricky units to test.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Anyone recognise these? I suspect that they are 4u7 H chokes, but can't find any information on them... I can't whip them out as I don't have the unit here - they are in the Vcc & Vee rails of an analogue PSU, so transparent to DC. They are in a bit of kit about 20 years old - I think that the &...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Yep that's a good way to create a center tap. But given the 15+15v tx adding two 50p three pin regs would be my choice. But many ways of solving the problem. Indeed, lots of solutions. With an active virtual ground, at worst you'll only need one regulator and if your preamp has good PSRR, possibly ...

Re: Nothing In Particular

What about using a TLE2426CDG4 ? Nice chip. Costs a couple of quid but gets rid of two resistors plus a capacitor and is a cool solution. It's a "last time buy" - basically a single chip implementation of 1513.Untitled1.png-800x600.png If you want to do a discrete implementation as per the...

Plus, why make it inverting
Looking at the spec sheet it looks like its marginally more stable in a inverted setup.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Looks a bit odd to me. The AD828 is a dual 130MHz GBW video amp designed to drive 50/75 ohm coax. Quite old, dates from July 1993. With a 3dB bandwidth that large and a correspondingly huge dv/dt, it'll pick up all sorts of crap and be prone to oscillation - it's not even unity gain stable. Plenty o...

...And have a good think on how to distribute all these bloody turntables. Theres no point thinking about selling stuff at the moment, things are not really going for their worth, and there are plenty of things that i regret selling. Do t want to go there at the moment I know you don't want to sell...

Audiojumble 03/03/24

I'll be there selling a load of stuff. Like loads... If anyone want to share the table, let me know... Excellent day if you can make it. https://www.audiojumble.co.uk/ Edit: perfect place to sell excess turntables :) Turntables are always popular at the Audiojumble. Walk down at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve - we're "friends" so go fair bit. Forecast was for breezy and dry conditions. Got there and a full-on hooley was blowing with driving sleet that stung your face... Brilliant conditions! Difficult to even stand and the dog found it challenging to make...

Re: what are you doing ?

We were Bulb and now Octopus.

They can't give us a smart meter as we are 3phase, however as a company so far they've been great.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Nice wood for the burner though... We had a 90ft poplar fall in storm Eunice last year - it shattered on falling, so stuff everywhere. It's useless for almost everything except matchsticks and carved spoons! However we have a couple of tonnes of it, so mixed in with spindle, ash etc. it's slowly goi...

Re: General health matters.

I'm 65 and now over 50 donations: A+. Had a brief blip where my iron level dropped just below 135 (the minimum level for men donating - the women's acceptance level is a bit lower) - note that this is still a perfectly healthy level for a 65 y/o but for blood donation they like higher levels (makes ...
