Steve, I have a picture of you sitting and listening with a big cheesy grin.
My 300B SE-OTLs are essentially silent; if that's possible with a DHT it ought to be possible with these indirect heated valves?

Finished assembling and testing the power supplies this evening. All tickety boo.
Now I can start testing the Beaglebone/Hermes/Cronus to check they're functioning correctly.

Re: Raymond Electric F17
Today I have reassembled the jigsaw puzzle that was the bakelite enclosure. I've used brush applied cyano to stabilise the cracks and fix the loose pieces back into place. It seems to have done the job so the next thing will be to mix some milliput filler (when it arrives) to try and get a colour ma...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?
Following a recommendation on John Broskie's most recent TCJ blog I've been enjoying listening to Musica Nuda having obtained a copy of their CD 'Quam Dilecta'. Here are a couple of samples of their music;

Re: Squeezebox wanted
Or, an alternative approach would be to couple a RPi with an Allo Kali (isolator/reclocker) and feed the I2S to a separate (slave) DAC, maybe one of the Chinese one's on ebay?

Re: Squeezebox wanted
If you want to push the boat out to improve the SQ, compared with the Boss, you might consider the new Katana DAC from Allo.
It uses the mobile version of the Sabre 9038 DAC and has the option of isolation;

It'll work well with picoreplayer.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.
The music to the film is by David Munrow and the Early Music Consort of London so the music is probably pre-Hadouk by several centuries! You might enjoy the couple of minutes of cycling clips at the beginning of this version of La Course en Tete (which also has the credits section at the start of th...

Re: Nothing In Particular
Thanks for the recommendation Ray. I've never had any luck with IPA (of the non-beer sort) - just seems to smear the flux around. Technique I use to clean PCB after soldering parts is; 1. Spray board with the flux remover and lightly scrub with a toothbrush where there are stubborn deposits. 2. Let...

There's even some stuff about single-speed fixies in that film.
