Re: Sky questions.

Start a conversation with cancellations and mention the wonderful competitors offerings. Just got a complete upgrade to SkyQ for Parity to the old package as a Customer Loyalty Gold Award. The Blurb is not of interest, what is off interest is that in a very rural location, the Downloads are now runn...

Re: Helpful Site with lots of Phono related test, measurement and analysis

The individual who put me onto the Korf Audio Site, also put me onto a rebuild service for a Kontrapunkt B. The rebuild service is the best money I have spent on a Cartridge the improvement over the standard K'b has been very noticeable. The K'b Rebuild I have gone for is using internals from other ...

Re: Internal Tonearm wire recommendations

As for the Kabusa, I know at present at Present Five Individuals who have it as a replacement Tonearm Cable, and guess what, I also have it myself. I went a bit silly about Tonerarm Wire, looking into exotics from different suppliers. I took on board the advice of the person doing the rewire, this w...

Re: Internal Tonearm wire recommendations

If you are a Sceptic and can't lean towards a 'exotic brand'.
A Wire that will be of value, to not impact on the Tonearms Mechanical Movements,
is Kabusa, as it is extremely soft and is possibly the least resistant impact for a wire on a Tonearms Function

Re: The Owston that never was..

As desirable as it is, to wish for a opportunity to get out and enjoy a Interest. With the recent reports on the Pub's reopening, this Year is looking like a a Unknown for Booking Events, as there is already Pub's Shutting Down only days after reopening, furthering the businesses concerns for their ...

Re: Blackgate Caps

I have prior to the lock down been listening to Nelson Pass Korg B1 Pre Amp Builds. Within the local HiFi Group there are now Five Builds of which I have heard four, one which is now loaned to me. The Build version that I thought was totally to my preference was built using Blackgates. The loaned mo...

Re: Fane 12-250TC Retro Speaker.

Hi Steve I have heard and have developed a soft spot for these Speakers through my visiting Owston, I now have memories of them being their two times, and on each visit these speakers transported me to another place. I know from your posts and pre presentation descriptions you have made slight chang...

Re: Corona Virus 'Easing of Lock Down Measures' Rant

Not too long ago, I was highly amused by a MacD's Drive Through Queue being off a length that was spilling out of the very long run up road and out onto a 'A Road'. All those people needing their MacD's experience as soon as the Franchise started serving again. This Queue Type was witnessed for many...

Corona Virus 'Easing of Lock Down Measures' Rant

I'm sure there is a use for the Up Date to the Thread, after just reading up on a members shopping experience. This experience is not unique, many who do the Households Shopping are aggravated by these types of observations. Maintaining Social Distancing is the key to avoiding reactive outbursts of ...

Re: what are you doing ?

Hi Ali
Good Luck with the return to work.
Note: an exclusion zone for an operation, when other trades are nearby, is the only way to look after your social distancing space requirements ensuring others and yourself are looked after in relation to the COVID Spread.

Re: Damping Factor Article

I'm a Crocodile when it comes to Skin Thickness, I'm not feeling any upset by the Replies .
I'm Glad the Article was shown to be Questionable as to the content, if the Intention of the author was to angle for cable sales, he has not escaped this being revealed on Audio Talk.

Damping Factor Article

The Link is to a Article that the forums Speaker Builders with 'time to kill' might like to look into. I hope there is info available that makes posting it worthwhile. http://benchmarkmedia.com/blogs/application_notes/audio-myth-damping-factor-isnt-much-of-a-factor?omnisendAttributionID=email_campai...

Re: Lock Down's Effect on the Audio Systems Replay Environment

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6173937/ I first heard of the Urban Noise Pollution being a Carcinogen many years ago on a Radio 4 Interview with a Scandinavian who was referencing the available research to verify the need to produce quieter Urban Areas. I recall Quieter Tyres was a way...

Re: Lock Down's Effect on the Audio Systems Replay Environment

Any thoughts on the effects of the reduction in the measured Seismic Energy, as shown in the Link ? I would like to think lesser measurements in ambient vibration has a positive effect on a Source and the Isolation in use with it that has a dependency on passing on information born from a Vibration....

With the Lock Down still effecting the amount of Industrial Activity that is in place, there has been reports on how the National Grids in Countries are for want of a better description Idling Along in their usage. This has 'Potentially' been making a very good quality power, above average power sup...
