First you need (as mentioned) to find the current needed for each secondary. then armed with that you can either get one made which will be in the order of £60, or try and make do with a couple of TX's. You also need to ask whet tolerance can be handled on the secondaries. Given the same board is on...

Thats a higher DCR that I would have hoped for.

Its worst that you say though. The second cathode needs to be at the first valve anode voltage + voltage drop in choke + bias required for second valve.

Ignore the last, I just woke up. Imagine a CCS in the cathode, and a resistor on the anode. If the B+ is fixed by the power supply and the current is fixed by the CCS then the voltage across a resistor on the anode can't change (current doesn't change). So the anode voltage remains fixed, so the val...

pentodes work best withlower loads, if you draw a horizontal current line on a set of pentode curves, you see that you get huge gain. CCS loaded c3g wired as a triode works very well. You ask a good question about a CCS in the cathode Pete in theory there is little difference I can think of. I will ...

Hi,

Mark J (IslandPink) is one person I know who seems to have a handle on matrix numbers and all that stuff, maybe other here also. Dont know if Mark is about at the moment but I am sure he will be along some time soon.

The main difference was that at Glastonbury I felt safe whereas at Stonehenge I was positively nervous for my safety.
Yep, there were a fair few predators of various types about the place.

Was that anything like, long hair + scruffy jeans = ergo must be a drug pusher? To be fair, given the fact that there was a vehicle as well, and remembering the typical festival goer at that time, the odds would have been in favor of finding something recreational and illicit. There were fundamenta...

Not without deciding what you are trying to achieve. There can only be one solution. try each, listen and if wanted measure, based on that decide what you prefer. or decide it doesn't matter. Then wonder if the result is applicable to any other valves, or the same valve at different operating points.

Doesnt matter where the resistor goes in a series circuit, one side, tother, or split in two on both legs, or in the middel if the TX is dual secondary.

If I remember, this is the sort of games they used to play with multiple grid valves (hexodes and so on) as frequency changers/mixers/oscillators in superhet receivers.

Did the twisting pull any of the wires going into the transformer?

Did you change the 20r on both channels?

Have you checked the voltages around the output stage?
