Just a addendum to that, where the Apple "It just works" attitude does fail in a big way (IME) is when its not using kit that is entirely in the control of Apple. So using itunes on Windows just never seems to be the same seamless happy experience that it is on a Mac. And if you are using ...

It should be pointed out that the circuit works just as well without the PCB.
