'Scuse me if i have this wrong, but if the Rega motor is fixed to the plinth as in current production but is an old one, make sure you have the later supply board, as the reason why the motor was suspended before was huge vibration, which the later board minimises very successfully..... One of the T...

I shudder to think how much an item like this would cost to make today with current labour rates. A heck of a lot of work in assembling and soldering up one of these I reckon..

Well, if all comes to fruition, it'll be a super deluxe *silicon* rubber belt driving a fairly massy platter and be almost totally immune to the support it's on (from prior experience).. I still have to get the Techie SL150 into service. After cleaning the speed pots (all four of 'em) and the master...

Hey folks,

Just set the 60mm distance from record centre and the 12" will do the rest as tracking error is so much less...:)

Apologies, not good at double entendres....

We crop up all over don't we??? :P I wish I could get my 401 back, but along with so much else, it's lost in the mists of time and failing memories now :( All is not lost regarding top quality vinyl playback though (even though the Dual 701 constantly surprises me). I dare not say more, but I'll be ...

I don't think they were regarded as being that wonderful, just toold to hold the Orofon OM Pro that the Beeb went over to. I suspect the old Grey arms were regarded as totally out-moded and home-grown products like the SME's and Ittoks etc were either too frail or too expensive for their use...

I'd recommend taking a few deep breaths (or going and making a soothing hot drink or fussing a hot pussy :P ) before posting "from the hip.." I've often had to take time out and it's when I've occasionally kicked out too quickly that I've gone in over my head. Just give peace a chance, peo...

Thanks everyone :) I think I've lurked here before, but lack of posting probably got my monika removed. The site was in "Favourites" I discovered... For those that don't know me, I was in the HiFi trade for over thirty years (with much Linn/Naim experience from the good old bad old days) a...

'Ello Dave.

So, you wish you could make a living out of HiFi? I bet there are very many audio dealers/proprietors sharing your sentiments these days...

I look forward to continuing Techie developments with interest..

Well, the pics of that amp are fabulous and I wish I had the dedication to build something like this myself - it's bad enough drilling a 23mm hole in a TD125 armboard for a Rega R200 arm and also wiring up a mini-DIN plug for the arm-exit cables... More please, especially the unfinished preamp...

Hi all..

Looks like I know some of you from "elsewhere..." Hope I can add something to the proceedings and I promise to behave :)
