one of my all time favourite guitar solos in that song.

Bought the album many years ago and was a bit disappointed with the rest of it compared to this stand out track though.

Almost a Cars / The Knack thing going on in this song.....

Cheers

Very nice indeed !!!
I love DIY marshall clones.

- I am just about to start a build of a 50w model 1986 Marshall clone as my next amp. I have several guitar amps and a clone of a Park 1210 Rockhead was my last one. I want the cathode follower sound of the Plexi 1986 circuit though.

Cheers

Hi there Steve - great to hear from you ! they are for mostly for Marshall and Park guitar amp clones I have built - so any decent ECC83s will be great - I have had reasonable success with JJ's and Tung Sol, but whatever you want to shift Steve ! If you have any decent British ones then great. NB - ...

Handful of ECC83's ?

Hi
does anyone have a handful of good ECC83's they want to sell ?

I need about 6 for various guitar amp replacements at moment.

Regards all,
Pete

Just discovered Winery Dogs - great if you like your Classic Rock stuff - with a bit of virtuoso playing thrown in.

Well...had a rush of blood and decided to try a very quick audio test with a geetar amp... forgive the impromptu noodling - it was a rush !!! https://soundcloud.com/pete-coates/export I'm learning something about Ribbon mics - they have quite low output but are very sensitive....if that makes sense....

Bit of progress with metalwork - slow going as I only have hand tools and drill press, but looking pretty good. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g159/pedrocortez/Mic3_zps41fe07e6.jpg http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g159/pedrocortez/Mic4_zps62ce48fd.jpg The ribbon motor assembly is held in place b...

great to see this one resurrected Dave....long winter nights seem very conducive to amp building. I am thinking of re-doing the (Shishido) Loftin White as my winter project. Will be 6N2P-EV into 6C4C with current reg heaters and James TXs. That breadboard was probably the amp I have liked the most f...

Progress......Decided to practice on a few spare ribbons while the gears arrive for the little corrugating jig. Found some suitable ribbed bottle tops which I used for trial ribbons. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g159/pedrocortez/Ribbon2_zps98354a2b.jpg Managed to get one in on the 3rd attempt (...

Thanks all, the challenge seems to be finding gears that are wider than 6mm which is my optimum ribbon width. There are loads available thinner than that. I have resorted to ordering multiple gears off ebay and will pair up 4x 5mm wide gears side by side to give me a couple of 10mm wide wheels to fe...

Hi Chris that sounds great. I have plenty of speakers and mic pres's , together with Macbook and Edirol FA-101 firewire soundcard so should be able to test with your mic ( and your brains ! ) I have been practicing cutting and fitting ribbons last night from Aluminium leaf - its bloody tricky but no...

Chris - yes if I can get some help / advice here.
I have a pretty basic sig gen and scope but dont use em much on my guitar amp builds - not a lot of need !

Steve : those old mics look great - you must give them a run...

cheers
