If SS will do, I'd look at tripath amps on ebay. Cheap,sound good and cheap to run.

You'll get crap quality power from a gennie.

Might be an idea to have two balanced trannies-one for amp and the other for sources.Might stop the kit putting nasties into the mains from affecting the other bits of kit.

Will be getting one of these myself once everything else is done.

It may be worth trying a balanced mains transformer to feed your system Greg.I've read a lot of positive comments on this approach.
