O/P is a 300B, not 2A3 :D 5k means less distortion, albeit with less power I grant you. If he doesn't want to run it higher than 50mA, as I do as well, that's about it really. Yeah, I'm running my KRs with ~5k, but at 350V and 80mA. And I'm pretty sure I can hear less distortion than 2.5k (I'll bel...

Where to start? 300B in A1 should give you 8W, whether you'd notice that much difference over a 2A3 I don't know. I've been playing with 26 10Y IT 300B for the last 18 months or so (very slowly). It's been very interesting and does some very nice things, but driver filaments aren't for the faint hea...

Still quite a lot of gain even Aikidoing. But they do make good amplifiers, even if they are a bit more involved. Have you got any suitable valves for the second valve position Chris?

Two of mine are about seven years old now, so i'd be a bit surprised if they were copies. But how would i know? Good question, dunno. I have a 50k which I got from Philip@Bluebell and a 250k from ebay. The 250k has nice lugs to solder to, the 50k doesn't. I might be wrong but I suspect the 250k ain...

I have a PEC pot in my headphone amp which still isn't finished so I haven't really listened to it :(. I think it was perhaps more open than the Alps (maybe) but the action wasn't as nice. But we're hairshirt audiophiles so that doesn't matter. Can't remember now if I've seen it here but there's bee...

Yes accessing SC through my web browser. I tried to list the options in the plugins window but I couldn't easily copy it and I'd need a number of screenshots. Well, another power supply sorted it. I've not had much luck with an explanation, just advice to buy a new PS. Fingers crossed, not had anoth...
