Wow, nearly missed this thread ! it all came out so quickly . I'm sure JC Morrison would be very impressed you are using the Eimac 3C24 as a shunt for the 6EM7 - very perverse ! Bet it sounds really good. Chris's 6EM7 at last Eggborough reminded me how good that valve sounds, but with shunt too , th...

I'm hoping we'll reach the minimum order for Fane to remake 25 pairs of the Studio 8M - see this thread -

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/group-bu ... run-3.html

I know Romy the Cat, John Hasquin and CV all rate the Fane very highly for tone .

The white horn is an Azura AH-425 sat on a (massive) GPA 288-H compression driver, which is like a late-model Altec 288 . The next part of the project is a mid-bass horn which will be a rectangular Edgar-style horn about 75x50cm mouth and 90cm long, running either the 8PE21 driver - on the floor in ...

Briefing

I really like the briefing he gets at the start - Colonel Lucas: Your mission is to proceed up the Nung River in a Navy patrol boat. Pick up Colonel Kurtz's path at Nu Mung Ba, follow it and learn what you can along the way. When you find the Colonel, infiltrate his team by whatever means available ...

Another shot showing the bracing dowels a bit more clearly .
The base panel is a nice piece of 25mm birch ply that screws onto the sides & back once I've fitted the speaker . The unit stands vertically as a pillar, for those who missed the start of this discussion .

I was wondering when you'd ask me that , Paul !
I actually tried ringing you not long ago, to ask what you wanted to do with them.
I'll PM you because there's another solution instead of posting that might be possible.
Good to see you're back .

Drivers did arrive OK as my landlord was working in the kitchen at the time ! They look pretty meaty - I should be able to use them up to about 0.1% of their power handling :D Sorted the mounting holes and fitted the internal panel last night , just been sawing up some 3/4 dowel and fitting four lit...
