Re: Something stirs in the Undergrowth

Just to dampen my enthusiasm, though on reflection perhaps not surprising given recent posts here, it seems the Soekris FPGA doesn't have the grunt for FIR filters. you can, however, still use the two (or more) board concept for implementing DAC based crossovers.

Re: Something stirs in the Undergrowth

From the DIY Audio topic on the Soekris DAM1121 DAC;
soekris wrote:It have always be possible to connect multiple slaves to one master, with the digital inputs going to the master. That is mainly for doing digital crossovers using the biquads in the multiple dam1121's, or for balanced or parallel operation.

Re: Something stirs in the Undergrowth

I wonder if the FIR discussion deserves its own thread ? I think that would be useful as it seemingly has much wider applications than just your speaker journey and it would create a resource for information on the topic - that would be useful to people like me who don't have a full grasp of the th...

Re: Made for fun during the lockdown

Shame about dismantling the music centre but I guess there's only so much space for keeping stuff! I did like the RPi and screen though and it's got me thinking about something like it - was it a touch screen or just a display?

Indeed. The Bristol Channel has the second highest tidal range variance in the world.
Yep, second only to the Bay of Fundy in Novia Scotia,

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Blowing even harder today! I rode in the opposite direction today so very fast out leg, heading east, then a slog all the way home. At about the turn point, this is Burrow Mump, a sort of miniature Glastonbury Tor that sits alongside the confluence of the Rivers Parrett and Tone at Burrowbridge - th...

Re: Made for fun during the lockdown

Excellent. It'll be a shame to dismantle it though! Oh and the cat supervised the whole thing: That's what cats do! I've been working from home and using Skype/teams etc. to collaborate with colleagues; generally our cat sleeps next to me but everytime I'm in a conversation she comes and sits on the...

Hope you enjoyed your walk Mark. It's blowing here too, 14mph westerly, gusting to 25mph; I had a hard slog eastwards for 12.5miles and then flew home - average of 16.7mph for the round trip! Forecast for the weekend looks a bit variable.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

When I went to the garage this morning I noticed the pink bike had another soft tyre - I quickly put the bike on the stand and took the wheel out to fix it but do you think I could find the leak! Eventually, after pumping up the tube more I found that there was a tiny leak from beneath the patch for...

Any ideas ?
Steve, if you're a member, there's a wealth of experience, including the designer, of the MoFo on DIY Audio thread - I would be inclined to post the issue there.
