Re: Another Bike Project

I like the holding stand thingy! :thumbright: Every bike maintainer should have one Mike, really makes working on a bike so much easier and more comfortable. On other matters, are you planning some more cycling adventures as the weather improves Mike? There's one of the top cycle trails over in you...

Enjoy the music, Steve, that sounds like a good plan for staying off the slippery slope.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

I dropped the frame off for a respray at Argos Racing Cycles in Bristol this afternoon. I decided to have it done in the darker yellow colour in the picture a few posts back. The forks are all but unmarked so I decided not to pay the extra to get them resprayed (it is a lot extra as they're carbon f...

I can't remember, did you use Front Panel Express to 3D print the front cover?
Cheers Simon. I did most of it in front panel designer then exported it to .stp format and tweaked it in Fusion 360. I got it 3D printed at JCB, very reasonable cost.

pre65 wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2024 9:39 pm It's got patina Ray, why spoil the look ?
It's not been loved, Phil, quite a few paint scrapes and some of the mounting lugs have some rust because the previous owner used horrible cheap bolts for mudguards and rack it's not serious at the moment but best to get ride of it

Another Bike Project

I' thought it was time to use the collection of bike parts I've accrued so I bought a frame to hang everything on. https://i.imgur.com/C8FG1Ib.jpg It's a gravel bike, steel frame and carbon forks. It's got thru-axles and the frame will take moderately knobbly tyres up to 38mm wide - I plan to explor...

Re: Borbely EB-1198/116 Preamp

I've received the preamp chassis from AliExpress and have started work on it. I've started with the front panel for the Muses volume control module. Step 1 - Make the opening in the front panel https://i.imgur.com/QmVtOXE.jpg Step 2 - Insert the 3D printed bezel https://i.imgur.com/6Zxp48g.jpg?1 Ste...

Thanks to all for the positive responses but I can stand you down now as Greg very kindly put some material in the post to me this morning.

Toroidal Transformer Mounting

I need to install a torodal transformer in an amp project but, whilst I have the metal plate to clamp it, the rubber/neoprene mounting washers are missing - can anyone recommend a substitute material as it feels a bit extreme to pay £15 for some to be shipped from Germany if I buy from ebay. Transfo...
