Re: Nothing In Particular

I was checking my "stock" of LT1083 regulator kits earlier.

I found two completed kits, and two bags of components (for a slightly different type) but without PCBs. So, did they come without PCBs, or have I mislaid them ?

Phil,

On the eBay LT1083 board, do the stability caps provided match those specified in the LT datasheet?
To be honest, I've no idea.

Re: The Other 13E1 SE-OTL

I use one in my 15v PSU for the SEG DAC, and one in my 50W chip amp PSU at approx 25v, not sure about the current.

No problems as yet. :)

A Cambridge Audio CXA80 fit the bill nicely. Found one on eBay, mint, for sensible money, and it arrived today.

Chris
I read a review of the CXA80 and it seems impressive. :)

James (Bristol area) was building a GM70 push pull amp. Not heard any more about it for a few years.

Re: GK-71 - economical build.

My GK-71 amp is in essence the Nicholas Chua GM70 circuit with a few additions to make the GK-71 act as a triode.

Re: Nothing In Particular

I'm needing to get quotes for my Honda CRV as the insurance runs out soon.

I usually go to a comparison web site then check Direct Line and see how they compare.

Ant, have you tried a good old fashioned Insurance broker ?

Re: 833A (GU-48) Amp

I can't see at the moment, but I think I use 2 x 100W R1 (.1R ?) resistors and capacitors.

So, they are in the filament positive lead, and the caps are not across the filament.

Is that "bad" ?

Re: 833A (GU-48) Amp

At the moment I heat the GU-48 (833a) filaments with a 12v SMPS (30A) and two RC stages to get it down to 10v. I'm looking for other ways to heat the filament, and wondered if using two LTC3780 modules fed from the 12v @30A SMPS , and set for 5A each might do. The safe continuous current from each m...

Re: Nothing In Particular

I was on the bowls green when they went over about 4:30.

Bit disappointing really as they were quite strung out.We paused the match to watch them.

The last two fighters (Spitfires ?) were much more exciting, looking like they were racing. Didn't recognise their livery though.
