Re: Extending Wi-fi

I did not really want to move my BT hub, but a judicious re alignment has now improved the signal in the offending rooms from weak to medium strength.

So, for the time being I think that will be good enough.

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

I was reading an article about fires in waste recycling plants caused by disposed Li batteries that people incorrectly put in general waste.

The article then goes on to discuss safety on EVs, particularly when accidents occur.

I took a trip over to Colins yesterday to pass them to him, before we all get locked down again.

If you use BT, check when your contract is up for renewal. If its expired upgrade and you get one or more range extenders as part of the deal.
Thanks Nick.

I'm building up a list of things to talk to them about.

I'm on a reasonable dose of D3 now. :D

Did not feel sleepy last night, so got up and browsed the bookcase, found "The Readers Digest guide to Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements".

Off to Holland and Barrett Monday.

Extending Wi-fi

I have two rooms that have a poor Wi-fi signal, what's a cost effective way to get round that ? 3 bedroom bungalow. I have a BT hub 6. Number 1 & 2 computers are wireless. The number 3 computer (PC) is in the small bedroom with a wired connection, but I'd rather not have to install any more wire. Nu...

Re: Resto-mod cars.

I've found a UK company (Retropower) that does high quality work on restomodding cars, plus race and rally preparation. They got an enquiry from Gordon Murray CBE (famous automotive designer) to build him a road car based on a Mk1 Escort, with much modding but to retain the standard look of a twin c...

Re: what are you doing ?

Being a bit bored I plugged in my Ubuntu hard drive to check for updates.

Seems there is a new version, 20.04 called Focal Fossa. Downloading and installing as I type, on no 1 spare computer (PC).

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

My first sports car was a 1965 Sunbeam Tiger, 260 cu in (4261cc) Ford v8 and BW 4 speed manual. Mine was white, had Minilite wheels (eventually) and had the optional detachable hardtop as well as the fold down hood. Quite rare these days. Like this but in white. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/im...

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

Cor, I've driven one. Basically you are almost lying down - silly really. Huge acceleration of maybe it was just because I was so close to the road. Reminds me of a story. One very foggy day, a traffic policeman was horrified when he heard a sports car drive by at a speed (he thought) in excess of ...
