Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

Other than writing 'American Pie'.... whose Don? Don McClean who lived in Dunstable was one of the earliest members of the present club and was the second club secretary after me. I also produced and edited the first four copies of the club magazine, The Gun. The first chairman was my friend, Dave ...

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

There was an RE ride-in at Sammy Miller's Museum last weekend, I'd never been before, it was good. The owner still does workshop tours in person, a humorous, informative and passionate speaker he is too. And he was, back in the day, a world champion trials rider and very capable road racer and scra...

Hmm, well you’ll have to suck and see. Personally, and I have mounted crossovers externally for several speakers, I have always gone with ABS plastic boxes. Likewise, Paul Coupe, RFF always uses wood. It’ll be interesting to see how you get on.

Indeed, a fantastic piece of kit that is a real pleasure to use. I’m really pleased with this buy. One of the best I’ve made in a long time.

Maybe the movement on the old Ammeter was better mechanically damped than the new replacement?
Yes, the old Lucas ones I recall had a damping adjustment screw on the underside of the gauge.

Nice upgrade, Colin. I understand the experience after I changed the tweeters in WAD KLS3’s to Seas Millennium. A good tweeter makes a massive difference that you don’t expect. Good to hear you are at the end of a tunnel and into the light again. I hope your contented mood continues. Still not sure ...

Re: Remember These?

That Hotrox wire looks good. Thanks for the link. Looking at your photo on HFS, it appears that your cover is not sitting properly onto your amps top plate. Is it resting on the top of the Tx? I was very careful that my diy cover made no contact with the Tx in any way. Even then, I ran an earth wire...

Re: Remember These?

When I had my WAD KaT88, I transferred the mains toroidal to the top of the chassis and used a cover made from a cut down aluminium saucepan. Worked a treat with no noise at all. Is that IPL HU1 white sheathed hook up wire?

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

Looking really good. Have you done your own paintwork or had it sprayed/stove enamelled professionally? Is the chrome original or has it been redone? The stand looks interesting. Original was cast alloy, the feet of which used to wear out rapidly. Is that an Indian replacement? If you’ve still got t...

Ariels sounded wonderful at Eggfest when hooked up to Paul’s (build it in front of you) 212 amps.

Re: FS: Metcal MX500P-11 NIB + extras

Hi Nick,

I’ll buy it, please. If you can convert to 230v that would be good.

I can pay PayPal or bank transfer. Let me know.

Thanks,

Greg
