Re: even more lateral fets

you've found a nerve, reminding me how useless I am these days...I have a pot in the workroom where I put details of projects on hold. These are usually mid point when the boy comes in: 'Dad, can you fix this please, it was an accident, honest'...so, about 3 or 4 years ago I was in the middle of a r...

Re: Next Owston meet 30 june/1 July 2018

Hey, before this goes mad, I don’t think Steve was asking for confirmations of those already on the list. He just needs to know if there are any more intending to attend who are not on that list. Slap me down if I’ve got this wrong, or slap me down anyway. but it says on the list that I need to con...

Re: even more lateral fets

What about a fan to cool things like wot I used on my 50W S/E Mosfet amps ? seriously? fans are for air conditioning and computers, eny fule know! I had a fan in an MF A100 back in the eighties, my first and last...the fan didn't stop the A100 sounding awesome but it did stop the music. I'll just h...

Re: even more lateral fets

I may have to put this one on hold.
Just testing 1 channel at 1.0 amp the sink got to 50 degrees, and it was still showing signs of climbing, albeit very slowly.
I need bigger sinks for this...oh waily waily...this was supposed to be a cheap experiment.

The meter showed 34 watts out of the wall.

Re: Fane 12-250TC Retro Speaker.

Re: more lateral fets

timid toad here......swidt well the front end failed without so much as a puff of magic smoke....now adjusted the 16v balanced supply to 14v, a bit kinder to the opamps...but the back end tests ok, although it's only biased AB at the moment, hence timid toad.... it ran for about 45 mins and the sink...

hash

I roasted a couple of opamps yesterday, fed them too many of the volt thingys. While waiting for a new pair to arrive I thought I'd balance the output fets and see if there was any noise(you can tell I was bored)....well there was noise: to the tune of 230 uv wandering between 18 and 23 hz... I don'...

Re: Nothing In Particular

that's just reminded me...I've recently discovered this company, they're closer to me than Maplins was(about 1 mile): https://www.switchelectronics.co.uk/ I ordered some bits from their website last week and the stuff arrived within 2 days, but I then discovered their trade counter. I'll carry on wi...

Re: What's your mains voltage ?

mine varies between 242 and 255v. I did a long thread back in the day because it was causing me grief as the bias for my F6 followed the mains voltage and made life very trixy. Since our street had a new main installed there are times when the voltage goes outside the acceptable limits. right at thi...
