When I gave up the IT shenanigins to concentrate on loudspeakers I closed the PAYE scheme I had been running for 20 odd years...ok so move on a few years and I'm running the company down and what do I do with the capital assets....the accountant says you must pay yourself t...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

It's bloody annoying! Now only use the watch for swimming when, strangely, elevation changes aren't that important... Ed doesn't need Strava. Try RideWithGPS and use your phone... to me it's absolutely no biggy. I used the word interestingly in the sentence, and thats exactly all it is, interesting...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Oh poo!

you were just a bit too far away for me to read your expression Ray.......

interestingly atlas says that last journey was 19.16km and strava says it was 18.75km......go figure

Excellent Ed. Now, about Strava...
ok, I'm in. It kept hassling me for health data so I capitulated and then it said 'where's your heart monitor?'....smart bit of kit that, you'd have thought it might first ascertain if I've got a heart monitor......c'est la vie.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

I think I've got it now Ray. I think my problem was I wasn't holding down the mode button for long enough.
this is what I had planned for yesterday before the seat let go:

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Good to see you got it going Ed - maybe an application of some contact cleaner? Next you'll have to get a Strava account and sync your ride data. I am getting there, albeit a tad slowly.... is there any benefit for me going to strava? everything I seem to be doing looks like it's already on atlas, ...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

certainly pays to persevere....I fiddled with the mode button and jiggled the usb plug(it feels very sloppy) and hey waddyaknow cateye070420.jpg cateye070420-1.jpg I don't know where the 44 minutes relates to, but the time shown on the plot shows 22 minutes.....oh this cateye stuff is trixy to be su...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

I know this is not quite up to the standard but I am trying...... Cateye performed faultlessly, I got back and it said 44 minutes on the screen...so I pressed the menu button to record the journey. It just wouldn't give up it's secrets when asked to download, just kept saying 'no data to download......

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

IIRC you have to tell it to start recording your ride Ed? I'll see if I can find the destructions later. Doh! yeah,, but seriously Ray....I've read and re-read the quick start guide(28 pages, seriously?) a few times now and followed the instructions to the letter... press and hold the power button ...

What. 0.144Hz to 0.07345Hz. I think not.
Ahhh, not such a capital idea then?
