Re: picoreplayer

oh yeah...'s lookin good, many thanks for that Chris... I've been listening all day, particularly like all the beeb 320 streams... the sq seems to have improved but that may be psychobabble cos it's exactly the same DAC as before except, but what I didn't notice was that all the other options in the...

I finally got some sound out of the pi at 11:30 pm(that's nearly 6 hours of grief, which shows you just how out of touch I am, not sure how 1st timers would cope)...the next big hurdle was configuring the output device to match the behringer usb dac....in my book it's kn...

Re: Nothing In Particular

I had this when I was making speakers: https://www.sipuk.co.uk/sip-01489-14-two-speed-band-saw-1000w.html although if memory serves it was 2hp and it had a stand with a cabinet in it, although that's deffo the same model number. It was a brilliant machine and I was sad to let it go. A word to the wi...

Re: bbc live radio streams

If you are using a USB DAC then just connect the Pi to the DAC via USB and don't bother with the extra DAC. Unless you want to spend more money. yeah but no but yeah...I was thinking the behringer dac is getting very old now and it was super budget when I bought it. Wouldn't one of the newer dacs b...

I ordered a pi 3 yesterday. will buy a hat dac to go with it...been looking at hifiberry dac+ or iqaudio are there any recommendations for a hat dac(budget)? I currently run the BBB and behringer usb dac off a linear supply I knocked up with lt1083. I'm ...

Re: Speaker design/test software

OT Chris, apologies have you got or used an 1820? I looked at it a while back as a replacement for my echo layla 3g, which is getting a bit long in the tooth and the phantom power has gone down. I got the bits to fix it from echo but never got round to fitting them. The reason I didn't follow up on ...

Re: bbc live radio streams

thanks Simon... I did a bit of research yesterday and it seems that picoreplayer now contains jivelite which is the goto screen support for pi so I don't think there is any setup shenanigins to be followed for this....... I could just get a pi and use my netbook as I am at present and just add cosme...

Re: bbc live radio streams

Most of my music listening these days is via streaming radio, although, as you can see, I haven't looked at the BBC for a while. Most of my listening has been Paradise lately. Looks like I'll have to get a bit more up to date. I'm currently looking at a Pi3 B+ with a 7" screen and some kind of DAC p...

Re: Speaker design/test software

looks the bizz Mark, you should be good to go with something like audiotester v3.0. it's very similar to my other system which I used with an acer I5 laptop for outside measurements: ls measure1.jpg it's a steinberg UR22 with a presonus PRM1. This also will be on ebay shortly. The UR22 setup is good...
