Re: Nothing In Particular
there is a slimfast ad on the tv at the moment..it features larger ladies... at the end of the ad there are three slogans to hook your memory..I can't remember 2 of them but the one I can remember says 'doable' with a backdrop of one of the larger ladies.... somebody has a sense of humour on the edg...

Re: General Raspberry Pi stuff
WiFi and Bluetooth excepted... I wasn't intending to be defensive - I just think that they are for different parts of the IoT space. You wouldn't really run an ESP32 on a battery (maybe a car battery...) but could genuinely consider that for a Pico, and that's a significant USP. that was my point r...

Re: General Raspberry Pi stuff
You've peaked my interest Nick and I can't shake the feeling that you're defending it unnecessarily...so I did a bit of digging and found this: https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2021/raspberry-pi-pico-new-4-microcontroller I don't think that they're competitors - they're two very different beasts. I...

Re: General Raspberry Pi stuff
be interesting to see how they get on....penetrating this market is not going to be quite as easy as it was with the pi.......they are going head to head with espressif.... espressif was adopted early on by the arduino community and so benefits from the ide and all the libraries, not to mention that...

trying manfully to rethink or repurpose a rhythm that sits quite happily at 200 bpm in 3/4 into a 4/4 rhythm at 120 bpm...This is to fit into a melody that I've been doodling for the last 6 months...or more precisely to find a background that I can play the melody over..... and Sebastian keeps comin...

Sorry Steve....you have as much idea about whether it was right or not as any of us......I am a chancer at best, always have been..... what I was responding to was what a difference the right gear and someone who knows how to use it makes. which I read as you deciding that fairview didn't have the r...

Re: Nothing In Particular
I remember watching my daughters recording being compressed at Fairview studios a few years ago, it sound dire once they had done their magic.. She has just released a single, with a local guy recording and mastering, it sounds pretty good to me compared to all of her previous recordings, what a di...

Not sure I understand the time-line, and where bipolar transistors fit into the history. no timeline really and certainly no bipolars.....just irony about the costs https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/Hammond-Manufacturing/195T10?qs=sGAEpiMZZMv126LJFLh8y2NIeaEvvx3D92IpEO0d%2Fr0%3D you may be ref...

Irony
The topic is a bit of a pun in itself....but we can rise above it.. It struck me recently that in the beginning it took a long while for mosfets to gain anything like critical mass in the hifi fraternity...there was so much valve snobbery going on that it more or less went unnoticed that solid state...
