dtv player

I have a problem with a dtv camera.... the Mem Sahib has an old Canon md120 dtv movie camera which she doesn't use anymore because it has stripes on the screen. I suspect it's a head problem. The trouble is she has 20 or 30 dtv tapes she wants to transfer to HDD. In the past I rigged up a firewire c...

Re: Nothing In Particular

And very twee :D ...and very rotten... Looking for a decent chop saw as a LOT of accurate cutting needed and my table saw is an Axminster cheapie and not up to it. Looking at this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006BRVQ9K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1 Anyone got an alter...

Re: Seminar 6th May - The Importance of Tuning for Better Performance

I apologise if this seems a bit off topic...

I found this quite challenging at the beginning but sticking with it was rewarding..

Re: Seminar 6th May - The Importance of Tuning for Better Performance

love the vid Mark, good point well made.....brilliant example it put me in mind of Richard Lloyd of Television fame. I always thought his guitar work was slightly 'out'. Here's an example, probably not the best though..: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tnl292LAD0w whenever I pointed it out to somebo...

Re: Seminar 6th May - The Importance of Tuning for Better Performance

Interesting. All I can add to that is as someone who plays blues guitar what has always interested me is the importance of the hundreds of notes that live between the flat third and the fourth. gpwm.... on my previous Yamaha I had a little wheel on the left hand side whereby I could find those note...

Re: Another MoFo

I feel a bit silly having ditched my original now. It would have been good to compare my opamp front end(ltc1150) with one of the valve front ends that seem to be appearing. The original had great promise from the first sounds that came out, but alas It needed bigger chokes and much bigger sinks. It...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

I've had the wheel out and investigated.....it's a Shimano exage rm50 hub..... the cones are slightly pitted, the cups also.....as there don't seem to be any replacements for that Shimano set I've thoroughly cleaned(all the balls seperately) and lathered in grease and reassembled. The wheel still pi...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Harry lives to fight another day. I lavished the princely sum of £70 for new tyres, chain and gear cables, and oodles of tlc in the form of hot soapy water, carb cleaner and 3in1. It was that or the tip and £90 for a Muddy Fox fixie. I think I chose right. He's not staying out for the night now unti...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

I detect irony..

the puncture proof tyres require you to get punctures so that you can practise changing them in order for them to become easy to fit...
go figure!....

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

I find them a real pig to fit....very tight...not relishing the thought of fixing a puncture out on the road...let's hope they live up to their reputation and I don't have to. putting it all back together now..if I can find my Halfords super dooper 9 fu...

Re: Nothing In Particular

We had a voice mail left yesterday inviting us to call a number urgently because out landline/broadband was going to be cut off. I told Judy to ignore it and strangely, having done nothing, our landline and broadband are both working fine - evidenced by this post! We share this planet with some rea...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

right...now for it.. Harry Holdsworth is finally getting the makeover...complete service(well nearly), strip and clean, new tyres and Bowdens. The mudguards are going(contrary to past advice on this forum) and the chain will be replaced. Now the question.... I think I need a chain extractor. This is...
