Re: Small Push-Pull Amp.

You guys have much better memories than me, but.....

didn't our man in Bedford make a little push pull el34 years ago? I seem to vaguely remember it being red and everybody liked it at the time...it may have been the time he played Stravinsky's 'firebird'....but then again it might not have...

Re: Forget Cube speaker Drivers .........is this the future?

the module definitely looks like the next step...but I can't find any mention of price in all the written pieces. Has anything been announced yet? It looks strongly like PUtzeys, RIsbo = puri but where does the fi come from and why doesn't Lyngdorf figure in the contraction.....I'm guessing fi for f...

Re: Forget Cube speaker Drivers .........is this the future?

I'm struggling to see the connection with 'full range' here, at best it looks like a candidate for the middle of a 3 way design. Perhaps I'm missing something.

also, what is the reference to cube speaker drivers?. It may sound glorious but there is no clue to this on the specs that I can see.

Re: Nothing In Particular

I've got mixed feelings about routers.... back in the day I had a large workshop in the garden with spindles, tables, 12" planers etc and I was a bit of a snob too. I had an elu 177(rolls royce of routers). Then I hit hard times and moved to Hull in 2000 and the first time I plugged the elu in it da...

Re: Inverted OTL with 6SN7/6AS7

I think I'm off the fence now..that's a very good point about the power out. I haven't run throungh the complete nand gate logic path but I think in principal it's the same scenario with the class d mute problem..i.e when the power comes on the mute must be on to avoid thumps but when the power goes...

Re: Inverted OTL with 6SN7/6AS7

So this is what I will use for the turning on/turning off sequence. It's easy to build and 100% reliable. Nice, though I have got lazy now, I would have just used as ATTiny24. quite agree, although just look at the elegance in the old school approach, and the satisfaction...I'm on the fence with th...

I just couldn't resist:

Magnet draw day from dark
Sun zoom spark
Sun zoom spark
Think you can uh hold it
Once it start
I don't care who ya are or what
size ya are
I'm gonna magnetize ya

it's so sad that I get these associations loads of times every day....is there a therapy for this!

ebay listings

I've been struggling to put items on ebay with 'buy it now' and 'offers'. All I've managed to do is 'buy it now' and auction at the same time.... can somebody tell me how to do this or tell me why I am not being offered the 'offer' choice with 'buy it now' I'm sure somebody pointed this out to me re...

Re: ariels

What about building something to surpass them? IIRC, Ariels are an older design - perhaps something with modern drivers would be even better..? I'd love to hear you try and persuade Steve Shiels of the benefit of that logic. but seriously, thanks for the offer, though I think I have one too many pr...

The man came to pick up my ariels this afternoon.... I've never missed a piece of hifi before but I'm beginning to regret parting with these.... so much so in fact that I'm thinking of building another pair...nothing I've got left comes close to the bass precision and pitch clarity... oh waily..and ...

Re: Latest DSD Decoder Project

Which I guess is one of the reasons higher sample rates or bit rates sound better? Well, its much more complex with DSD than PCM. All PCM has to do is go from one level to a zero in the space of two samples. DSD has to emit 0's to ramp the output down over a number of samples. Of course the DSD sam...
