Re: Internal Tonearm wire recommendations

I use scientific wire company copper litz, has a silk insulator on it. Ive wired unipivots and gimbal arms with it, and its the same stuff that my airprodigy is wired with.
They also do a stranded silver.
Might try that at some point.
I prefer it to cardas

Re: what are you doing ?

yep the corals are ok, they didnt like it one bit but they have been put in a separate little plastic tank with water from the quarantine tank in it along with some live rock. They have all perked up and opened up today so they seem back to normal. The snails and crabs ect that are still in the half...

Re: what are you doing ?

with the marine tanks the bacteria has to be in balance, more so than a fresh water tank. The ph levels, nitrates, ammonia, bacteria and salt content all need to be in equilibrium and monitored regularly. Its the bacteria that deal with the nitrates and ammonia. The only thing i can think of that ca...

Re: what are you doing ?

Yep he was a silver scribbled rabbitfish, we'd had him a long time. There was also a bronze tang, a couple of cromis, some damsels, mollies, and a canary blennie called mr fish. For some reason only one molly was left We have a small tank upstairs that is used as a quarantine tank that at the moment...

Re: what are you doing ?

Woke up this morning to a crashed marine fish tank. All the fish bar one dead and a huge bacteria plume in the water Its taken all day to empty it and strip it all down to get all the dead out, to clean it all and mix up as much new salt water as we could with the amount of reef salt we had left. So...

Re: Moth RCM Mk II (record cleaning machine)

I did 4 or 5 discs yesterday, and yep it is a noisy bugger but its only for 10/15 seconds so not too bad. I have some ear defenders on hand though I dont plan to go through every disc and clean them, ill just clean them as and when i want to play them, or maybe in a small batch when i buy new (to me...

Re: Moth RCM Mk II (record cleaning machine)

Big thankyou to dave (the vinyl junkie :D ) for fetching the rcm on his 400 odd mile saturday odyssey, first time ive used a 'proper' rcm, and i can now see why people swear by these machines The knosti is perfectly adequate for most uses, but the rcm cleans more thoroughly. With the acquisition of ...

Re: Tesla.

Didnt honda build a hydrogen powered car that was sold in i think california only? (Initially) Only place where you could refuel it. Same problem as electric cars when they were first released, a complete lack of infrastructure to service and refuel/recharge Only byproduct of the engine was water ii...

Re: Dual EDS 1000 and airprodigy linear arm build

Thats pretty much what ive ended up with, a big dd deck that others can use in the jvc, the dual/airprodigy is mine(all mine!), and the big lenco is the outlier. It was built as kind of a demonstrator so if somebody does want one built, they can hear it first. Its fair that someone would want to do ...

Re: Dual EDS 1000 and airprodigy linear arm build

Well thats an interesting comparison, mainly because the big lenco and this deck have identically constructed plinths (other than the shape and cutouts of course) so in those terms its pretty equal. I spent alot of time experimenting with the arm mountings with the various lencos, this is going back...

Re: Dual EDS 1000 and airprodigy linear arm build

I was expecting good things from it when i decided on the arm, albeit tempered with thoughts of stuck carriages and bent cantilevers. I was actually a little wary of it when i started setting it up, as the terminator that nigel lent me that i used on the jbe got stuck half way through a side and ben...
