I like to think of myself as a type of Vegetarian, as everything I like to eat, used to be a Vegetarian when it was alive.

Re: Nothing In Particular

If you want to talk about Range and Carbon Neutral, Have a look at a few of Dave the Bass's Cycle Data Posts and his Lunch Break Images. He is doing about 50 Miles around Town on a Packet of Crisps and a Pork Pie, I don't remember seeing a bottle of Ionic Drink, with such economy with a Eco sustaina...

Re: Chinese Loudspeaker Drive Units

On LH, there is discussion on comparisons to Lowther Drive Units.
I,m interested as well in how these units are assessed by the speaker builders on here.
Any speaker not requiring a xover and mounted on a OB is on my radar .

Chinese Loudspeaker Drive Units

The Link is to a range of drive units that might get the attention of a speaker builder.
There is a decent coverage of a few drivers in the range on Lenco Heaven, as well as a review of a few functioning speakers in use in Gravesend Kent.

Re: Room Treatment (Split from Owston thread)

No advising at all.
Dave has made it clear there is still outstanding treatments to be added, making the room, a work in progress.
I thought if Dave was in possession of the measurements from the treatment service, he could have offered them up for analysis from a few members who may understand them.

Re: Room Treatment (Split from Owston thread)

To the uninitiated looking in on this thread, it would be difficult to gather the purpose of the discussion. The discussion is about the listening room used for the Yorkshire HiFi Club Meetings. It is a large well presented room in a Basement with a through wall to a Adjoining Room that leads to a S...

Re: Owston 2019 - Listening Impressions

When I look at OB's, I lean toward passives, for what seems to me the easier to achieve option. Thomas's OB's fell into that criteria, and I listened to them, and was hearing appealing sounds, that prompted me to request a track be played from my CD's. So those OB's have stuck n my mind, and could q...

Re: Owston 2019 - Listening Impressions

I would happily put two of my Eminence Beta 15's in a Baffle to be used with the 57's at the next Owston. It would be nice if any electronic requirements were catered for by somebody with a interest in this, as I'm lost on the most simple of ideas. If Steve can post the Next Date, as I think it migh...

Re: Attendees Owston 1/2 June 19

Firstly one for Steve, Thank you for putting in the foot work to put on a Day offering this Experience. Secondly, a Thank you to all who attend and especially those who exhibit, it was a great turn out. The Quaser OB's had caught my ear, I sensed there were a few positioning concerns as they were be...

Re: Owston '19 what are you bringing

I can bring the Mr Nixie DIGNA Phonostage and Hashimoto H-3.
The DIGNA I would think, is a not so common design.
It works quite well with the PTP Set up.
Apart from the 845's that's all my Crown Jewels out on parade.

Re: Owston '19 what are you bringing

I will check the NSC tonight, I think the power from NSC to TT, is IEC - IEC.
I will squeeze the 57's in and bring the Valve DAC along as well.

Re: Owston '19 what are you bringing

I am happy to bring along the PTP Solid 9 and NSC, if 'Nick' would like to compare the latest Speed Controller he has produced. Otherwise it will be the overhauled SP10 with rebuilt Tonearm and Rebuilt K'b. Let me know the what one suits. I could maybe get the 57's on board used at Kegworth, if some...
