Re: Yorkshire Hi-Fi Club

Hi RythMick The experience at the venue is very good. Own devices are welcome and usually get a audition in a line up of ascending purchase value. A DIY KIT produced value, fits into the same order as the retail values and are auditioned in the same line up. The feed back is very fair and comments a...

Re: Wanted: 6SN7 Tubes.

I thought I replied to Rythmick's kind offer, looks like it did not show on the thread. Thank you Rythmick for this offer, I will take you up on it when I chose a valve from the current trial valves. It will be a little while till I require them, as I am not forcing this one, I'm prioritising enjoyi...

Re: Yorkshire Hi-Fi Club

Is there a confirmed date for the next meeting ? I am enquiring as I am having a break for 9 days outside the UK in October. I've got a imported Valve Design DAC based on the 1541 chip, as well as a supplied upgraded chip, yet to be used. The DAC has a USB and Digital Coax input, I would like to bri...

Cornish HiFi Show "Rare as Hens Teeth"

I've copied and pasted this over from another site. I never thought I would see the day, but there is going to be a hi-fi show here in Cornwall Thursday 18th October at the County Showground near Wadebridge open 12.00 noon until 8.00pm. http://www.cornwallhifishow.com/ Organised by H B H Woolacotts,...

Wanted: 6SN7 Tubes.

I have two Electro Harmonix 6NS7EH Tubes on the 845's.
I am intrigued by the idea of rolling tubes, as I only require two 6SN7 Tubes, this would be a good place to start.
Any tubes out there that might be made available, that would offer a alternative SQ to the above tubes ?

Re: Yorkshire Hi-Fi Club

Thank you Dave For the Info, I'm looking forward to the next one, hopefully not in the thick of winter, due to the logistics incurred to attend. It is great to be able to have a social get together, where one can see and hear all the Devices under one roof, enjoying others creativity and Home built ...

Re: Yorkshire Hi-Fi Club

Any info on the turntables that were brought along ? I couldn't make the meet, so it would be nice to know what I missed. How did the Phonostages compare to the Music First Reference, if the Music First was used. I have a indelible memory of this stage surpassing most of the stages that were auditio...

Re: Yorkshire Hi-Fi Club

Works stuck the boot into my plan to make the visit.
I was looking forward to it, done a long round trip last week to have the Tonearm and Cartridge set up correctly. I was amazed at what I learnt on this excursion.
Had a new phonostage to bring along as well, to put out against Britains finest .

Re: Isolating Transformer

This is of interest to me, I recently bought a 500va Isolation Transformer to use as a method to control a ground loop. The ground loop is now controlled by a different method. Would it be wise to source another 500va tran, and have one for each monoblock power supply. I intend on having a separate ...

Re: Yorkshire Hi-Fi Club

I am hoping to make the journey.
I am hoping to have a couple of phonostages on board, that there are only one model of each known in the UK.
