Re: OK…so I’m on wi’ summat
Too late now but I was going to suggest RS do some nice can electrolytics that might have filled those holes, smallest value 150uF tho (500V).

Re: PSE EL84 Amplifier
Sorry misundestood, I thought you were saying the driver had to be 4 Watts.Paul Barker wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 4:23 am Why 4 watts? because on the speakers 2 watts would be a waste of project.

Re: Fg810 - A Working Title
Just to mention - Fg810 is running fine, it's on all day every day, if not streaming music then audio for videos and DVD's. Ditto the Kubelic DAC is cosntantly on for music. I have been repeatedly running a big iTunes shuffle playlist (about 2.5 days' worth, so far :D ), heard it all before natch, s...

Re: Free schematic/board tools...
If it helps - still using FreePCB - can import netlist from LTspice (with a bit of editing of the netlist file). Latest version(s) Gerber files are compatible with JLC PCB (a nice discovery).

+1.
OK next silly question, why 4 Watts
PS: 2 matched EL84 may bias together, but unlikely to stay matched with use (my personal experience).

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.
Thanks for that, I have various sketchy plans for summer, cycling might be involved at some point. But also motorbikes, sidecar outfits ... too many irons really  Reminds me I was looking at The Viking Way recently, but Google images suggest some sections are blocked off or otherwise inaccessib...

Re: PSE EL84 Amplifier
Just IMO, I don't like the idea of 2 x EL84 in parallel, seems like a step too complicated. Also getting them biased the same with fixed bias couild be a headache. So then what, separate bias circuits with trimmers? I assume the issue is must drive a 2.5k primary? Why can't the secondary load be alt...
