Re: Opticians.

Somewhat different example: lately I've used a local private dentist couple of times, the premises are really nice, compared to where I used to go to in Laindon (Essex) for yonks, a NHS place which for some time now is shockingly shabby compared to what it used to be like decades ago. Used to have p...

I suppose it's because I perceive them as "expensive" compared to some of the deals one sees on TV for the likes of Specsavers et al.
I've also heard stories like the glasses fall apart after a few months. Think it might be a case of "you get what you pay for".

It's mad, isn't it?
I was wondering what all those areas of Wales out past Cardigan Bay would look like. Fascinating.
Even more mad, apparently there were once lions wandering around what is now the North Sea

Re: Wanted Oscilloscope or Advice

PicoScope 2205A, as a example of a USB connected scope doesn't use a audio card, its got a bandwidth of 25MHz. Think you may be confusing them with the sound card interface I used to use that does use a audio card input, Didn't know such things existed, so yes I am. Having said that I would ...

Re: Wanted Oscilloscope or Advice

Another important question is, how much do you want to spend? Loads of second-hands on eBay - Two examples ('buy now' not bidding, I hate bidding): Harmeg 407 (Sheffield) , Tenma 72-8240 (Preston) , note sellers ask to collect only. Almost but never quite got around to trying USB types, having got t...

I like mono supplies. There's a wholeness to the sound/presentation that I like and find more musical.
As you say, there's a definite "wholeosity" (copyright Dr Gizmo) to the music with the single power supply.
