I have just broken noise from the JLS, I'm guessing the clock isn't correct.
Problem is I don't know what the Dac is on the dac board, so don't have a clue how to configure the board.

Re: Yorkshire Hi-Fi Club
I shall be attending and am thinking about bringing my Goldring Lenco. It has been improved just lately with a heavy plinth to very good effect.
I am running a Lyra Clavis on it, some might think that a bit optimistic but it performs really well.

That's a shock apart from being tragic.
We went to see him on April 10th performing with JCM, it was a superb night.

Re: Help required to finish a valve project - please
Does the amplifier have floating heaters, i.e. no connection to the signal ground at all? This can cause hum issues.
If the output is in the form of a cathode follower then a raised bias voltage is probably necessary to avoid excess heater cathode voltages on all the valves.

Yes squeeze it till the pips hurt
That is a very good suggestion, let's see what current the '88 can stand and take it from there.
I'm a fan of larger current flow, as is Mark

Re: Valve phonostage build
I also prefer the coupling cap after the RIAA network but I think it sounds better because the signal is going through the cap into a fixed impedance, rather than the pre EQ signal going through into a very varied impedance over the audio band. The drawback of course is that the EQ caps have to be r...

Re: Stacking Quad ESL57's vs Buying a modern Quad ESL's
The difficulty of course with stacked quads is the sheer size of them. I personally haven't heard a stacked pair so can't say how they sound. However i do have a single pair which i will never part with. To bolster the shortcomings I have run a sub with them for many years, but have only fairly rece...

Maybe this should be followed as often as possible:

Re: Phono bake-off
The comparison that was asked for has been done. Hi Doc, to put the record straight I have never played any 'games' to prevent previous comparison, no matter what you have thought, it's delusional. I don't do 'marketing' either, it wouldn't bother me if I didn't sell another thing, i don't need the...

Re: Phono bake-off
Has been for me  been trying for more than two years. Lets just hope no more games. No games, or panicking to find 'extra tricks'. I shall be sending an entry level SS of a 'value' equivalent to your Phono1. I understand you are sending a Phono3, if it pisses all over the FB then so be it.
