Thanks to all for the positive responses but I can stand you down now as Greg very kindly put some material in the post to me this morning.

Toroidal Transformer Mounting

I need to install a torodal transformer in an amp project but, whilst I have the metal plate to clamp it, the rubber/neoprene mounting washers are missing - can anyone recommend a substitute material as it feels a bit extreme to pay £15 for some to be shipped from Germany if I buy from ebay. Transfo...

Re: Borbely EB-1198/116 Preamp

I've been hacking the Borbely pre-amp PCB today, preparing to install it in a chassis and hook-up the Academy Audio Muses volume control module. The components on the right and the small transformer are now a floating 5V supply that will power the Academy Audio switcher supply (5V in, +/-14V out) - ...

Re: General health matters.

I picked up my new specs this morning, something of a relief as I lost my glasses on a train, two days before my eye test appointment last Friday! My Mk.1 eyeballs are in good shape for my age so I just needed a new prescription for reading and DSE work, and I'm now back to reading small print. Mode...

Owston 2024?

Just wondering where thoughts are regarding an Owston meet-up later in the year? I would definitely be interested in coming up again for a day and would happily organise if I weren't a couple of hundred miles away - I could find a venue down here but I doubt you guys would be up for a trip down to S...

Guessing you're referencing the mobile phone topic, selfishly putting others at risk of injury, or worse, seems pretty anti-social to me.

You could also consider getting chassis panels fabricated by the company I mentioned in the suppliers section, they'll do custom perforation patterns, folding and powder coating and offer steel, stainless steel and aluminium in various thicknesses. https://www.audio-talk.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p...

Re: Borbely EB-1198/116 Preamp

So a bit of a change in that I've decided to keep the Slagle autoformer for it's original VFET preamp project and I've ordered an Academy Audio Muses volume control board to use with the Borbely project. The Academy Audio purchase includes a power supply similar to Jan Didden's 'Silent Switcher' - 5...
