Re: Swimming the Bosphorus...

Good luck for Sunday Nick, though it sounds as though you'll manage without it.

There are 25 of us on the charity bike ride I'm doing in August and the numbers say I'm the oldest but...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Whahey, another PB this morning before work riding my usual 'Wivey and back route'. The fitness is really coming along, that's the first time I've averaged over 200watts for more than an hour. Numbers in brackets are from the last time I rode the same route on 11/07. Departed: Jul 17, '18, 06:24AM S...

Re: 6C33C SE-OTL Project

I managed to pick up a used pair of Johnson brand Septar sockets for the 6C33Cs at a reasonable price. They were made in the USA probably more than 50years ago but in spite of their age and the fact that they've been used the contacts for the valve pins are loads better than those of the current man...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

50 miler done! Another early morning start, I rode a bit within myself (reflected in the wattage and heart rate stats) to push out the miles but left a challenge until the end - still a respectable average speed though. Departed: Jul 15, '18, 06:29AM Starts in: Taunton Deane, England, GB Distance: 5...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Thanks Nick. That more or less coincides with my planning. After a slow start when I couldn't shake off a bug I'm now confident.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Five weeks to go until the big (115mile) charity ride; training is coming along nicely and weight is now down in the 12stones so less to carry uphill. I'm hoping to get a 50miler in during the next few days as I step up the distance... Departed: Jul 14, '18, 08:02AM Distance: 27.2 mi Elevation: +176...

Re: Owston meet 2019 >1&2 June

I'll do my best to get along Steve. I might have even finished one or two projects by then!

I'm generally pretty easy with dates it was just unfortunate that the one just gone was on a weekend we already had booked for a holiday.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

One of the main reasons I like the early starts is that the riding doesn't eat into the day too much; we got the train down to Plymouth at just after 10am and were on the Cornish coast path by just after noon. We didn't walk as far as we would usually - phew it was hot - but I earned the pint of Cor...
