Re: metric wierdy

When I try I find 1 pint equals 0.56826125 l, so 4 pints equals 2.273.

I think you had a US pint.

should I go and have a lie down! - Depends who with.

Cheers

Re: Owston meet 27+28 Nov 21-add your name here

Thanks again Steve for organising the event. First time I've been out for an overnight stay since lockdown, and it was well worth it. Also thanks to all the "exhibitors" for making the effort to transport their creations to the event. Amplifiers from 4KVA to 1W, I wonder how we affected th...

Negative test, so off I went and only 4 1/2 hours and 155 miles later I'm sat in Owston Hall Hotel.

Got to wait til it's dark before setting off for the pub, it's more of a challenge that way.

Re: Owston meet 27+28 Nov 21-add your name here

Hi Steve Yes I think the last time we met was at Warwick. I missed this years event, Retrotech(?) and the HiFi Show at Daventry due to various cataract op related problems, but all OK now. Fully in favour of Lateral Plow test prior to Owston, Lateral Floe is a lovely lady, and very testing. No probl...

Re: Owston meet 27+28 Nov 21-add your name here

Hi Steve I hope your recovery is continuing. Please add me to the list. Sorry for late request but I only got sign-off that, following second cataract op, my eyesight exceeds minimum for driving yesterday. I'm definitely penalised for late bookings, Friday night Owston Hall, Saturday night Travelodg...

Hi Andrew, I bit further south, 93b, on the same side as the Methodist Church, notice it's a Pret A Manger now.

Wasn't Jomi Hendrix the woman who played a left handed guitar with her right hand?

Re: Nothing In Particular

Yes Phil, Peter West was a bit of a character, no check on who I was, just leave a cheque and take two amps. Later he moved out of Newbury to a nearby village and when I there to pick up the Onix following the relay repair he had one of the Marantz turntables that could be adjusted for out of centre...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Back in early 1984 I was thinking about getting a new amp.. The mags tended to recommend the A&R60 as the £200 amp. I was living in Abingdon and had seen an article in HiFi Answers about Peter West and Donnington Audio in Newbury who stocked A&R. Following a visit I left a cheque for £200 wi...

IET Event, talk by Bob Stuart

Talk on Tuesday 17th August at 19.00 on Perspectives On Audio: Information vs Data; Fidelity vs Resolution Audio bridges science and engineering with the complexity of the human listener. If we are to close that gap, we need to ask the right questions. This talk begins with a tutorial overview of to...
